The Misadventures of Cheri

Mortifying my kids one swimsuit at a time

Some days it doesn’t pay to be a Shaver . . . . .

on January 20, 2009

What a day. It’s late so this’ll be quick.

I battled a migraine all day . . . . it was left over from yesterday! We drove around all morning getting estimates on fixing the Highlander. The prices just kept getting higher and higher as the day wore on. Thankfully Maaco was having a bumper sale (God LOVES us) and it won’t cost an arm and a leg to fix.

Tyler took the Camry to get a car wash today after we dropped the HL off to get fixed. He decided it would be fun to watch the carwash through the sunroof. He slid back the interior cover and *blammo* the sunroof was shattered. Not broken – he said it didn’t even leak during the wash. We have no CLUE how that happened. He thinks he might have gotten a bit aggressive in getting the snow off the roof during Snowmageddon/Snowpocalypse/Polar Paralysis.

Who knows? So we called our insurance agent to see if the sun roof is covered under the “glass” part of our policy (Oh please Lord love us again and let it be!). After the phone call, we’re about 95% sure she runs her entire operation from her cell phone. She actaully told Tyler to call the 1-800 number and ask them. Are you kidding me? It was near the end of business so Tyler decided to NOT blow out an artery and will wait until tomorrow.

Austin went snowboarding all day. When he got home tonight he told me he only fell twice. And both times he fell hard on his rear end. So I guess he nearly broke his butt. I don’t know how it’ll be in the morning. He limped around all night and took some Advil. He has karate Tuesday night and that might get interesting. OH! And he gets new bands on his back teeth for his braces in the afternoon- that’s going to feel GREAT. And he got a sunburn on his face today.

Amber seemed to manage to stay unscathed. Like she usualy does. Her biggest gripe today is that she thinks Austin is purposely making her life miserable. Which he probably is. But by 10:00 tonight, I really wasn’t up to hearing about it. I told Austin to knock it off and everyone to go to bed. As usual – sign me up for Mother of the Year.
